The purchase

Is there a subscription?

No. Pin & Print is free to download, with one board and every tool. One in-app purchase unlocks the rest for good: unlimited boards, poster files and tiled printing. There is no subscription and no trial, and nothing renews.

How do I restore my purchase?

Open Pin & Print, tap the gear in the gallery to open Settings, and tap Restore purchase. Use the Apple Account you bought it with. The unlock screen has Restore purchase too, under the Unlock button. On a new iPhone signed in to the same Apple Account, the App Store usually restores it by itself.

Can my family use it?

Yes. The unlock supports Family Sharing. If you share purchases with your family group, the other members can use it on their own iPhones at no extra cost. If Pin & Print doesn’t show as unlocked for them, they tap Restore purchase in Settings.

With Ask to Buy, a child’s purchase waits for the parent’s approval, and Pin & Print unlocks as soon as it is approved.

How do I get a refund?

Apple handles every payment, so refunds go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Your boards are never locked away: after a refund every board stays on your iPhone, and you can still view it, save it as a wallpaper, print it at page size and export it as a board file.

Boards and backups

Can I lose a board?

Pin & Print saves after every change. Your boards are kept in the app’s own storage on your iPhone, which iCloud Backup and computer backups include, so they move to a new iPhone with your backup.

Deleting the app deletes its boards. Before you delete it, export your boards as board files.

What is a board file?

One file, ending in .pinprint, that holds a board and its original photos. It is your own copy, to keep anywhere or to move a board to another iPhone.

  1. Open the board, tap Share and print and choose Board file.
  2. Save it to Files, or share it with AirDrop or Mail.
  3. To open one, tap it in Files, or in Pin & Print go to Settings › Import a board file. It becomes a new board.

Exporting and importing board files is always free.

Do boards sync with iCloud?

Not yet. Boards stay on your iPhone and in its backup. To move a board to another device, use a board file.

Printing and posters

How do I print my board at home?

Open the board, tap Share and print and choose Print at home. Pick Letter or A4 and print with AirPrint, or save the page as a PDF from the print screen. Printing at page size is free.

How do I get a poster printed?

Choose Poster in Share and print. Pin & Print makes a print-ready PDF or JPEG at your board’s poster size, up to 24 × 36 in, or A3 and A2, to send to a print shop or an online printing service. It tells you how large each photo will print sharply before you export.

Poster files are part of the unlock. The 8 × 10 in size is free. If your print shop asks for bleed, turn it on in the Board sheet, under Format.

Can I print a big poster at home?

Yes, with the unlock. In Print at home, choose the poster across several Letter or A4 pages. Each page has cut lines and a label, so the pieces go together in order.

Can I make a poster from a single photo?

Yes. Tap New board › Print a photo as a poster. Pin & Print picks the nearest poster shape, crops around the subject and suggests the largest size that prints sharply.

Widgets and the Lock Screen

How do I add the widgets?

Touch and hold the Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and search for Pin & Print. There are small, medium and large widgets, and a word widget for the Lock Screen: touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, and add it to the widget row.

Which board do the widgets show?

All the widgets show one board. To choose it, touch and hold a board in the gallery and tap Show on widgets. In that board, the Board sheet’s Widgets setting picks what they show: close-ups of the board, your photos, or your words.

How do I put my board on the Lock Screen?

  1. Open the board, tap Share and print, choose Wallpaper and tap Save to Photos. Pin & Print makes the image at your iPhone’s size, with the board below the clock.
  2. In Photos, open the image, tap the Share button and choose Use as Wallpaper.

The first time, iOS asks whether Pin & Print may add images to Photos. That lets it add the wallpaper; it can’t see your library.

Shortcuts

Can my wallpaper follow my board by itself?

Yes, with the Shortcuts app. Pin & Print adds a Get Board Image action, which gives the wallpaper image of the board your widgets show. Set it up once:

  1. In Shortcuts, tap +, search for Pin & Print and add Get Board Image.
  2. Add Set Wallpaper Photo below it. Its photo should read Board Image.
  3. Open that action’s options, choose the Lock Screen, and turn off Show Preview and Crop to Subject, so the board stays as Pin & Print laid it out.
  4. Run it once with ▶︎.

To make it daily: in the Automation tab, tap +, choose Time of Day and Run Immediately, and pick your shortcut. Open Pin & Print at least once first, so it can make the image.
