How to put your vision board on your iPhone Lock Screen

Updated 11 October 2026 · 2 min read

You look at your Lock Screen dozens of times a day. That makes it the best place for a vision board: you see it without opening anything.

Make the wallpaper

  1. Open your board in Pin & Print, tap Share and print and choose Wallpaper.
  2. Tap Save to Photos. Pin & Print makes the image at your iPhone’s own screen size and places the board below the clock, so the time never covers it. The first time, iOS asks whether Pin & Print may add images to Photos: that lets it add the wallpaper, not look at your library.
  3. Open Photos, open the new image, tap the Share button and choose Use as Wallpaper.
  4. Check the preview and tap Add. iOS then asks whether to use it on the Home Screen too.

A board made in the Wallpaper shape fills the whole screen. Other shapes sit between the clock and the buttons at the bottom, on the board’s own paper. The Lock Screen wallpaper templates are laid out around the clock from the start.

Add a word widget

Your words can sit right under the clock. Touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, choose the Lock Screen, tap the widget area and add the Pin & Print word widget. It shows the words you set for the board in the Board sheet under Widgets, or else the board’s first text.

Let the wallpaper follow your board

iOS doesn’t let apps change the wallpaper by themselves, but the Shortcuts app can, and Pin & Print gives it the picture. Set it up once:

  1. In Shortcuts, tap +, search for Pin & Print and add Get Board Image. It returns the wallpaper of the board your widgets show.
  2. Add Set Wallpaper Photo below it. Its photo should read Board Image.
  3. In that action’s options, choose the Lock Screen and turn off Show Preview and Crop to Subject, so the board stays as Pin & Print laid it out.
  4. Run it once with ▶︎.

To make it daily: in the Automation tab, tap +, choose Time of Day and Run Immediately, and pick the shortcut. Each morning the wallpaper catches up with any change you made to the board. Open Pin & Print once before the first run, so it can make the picture.

The Home Screen widgets

Touch and hold the Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and search for Pin & Print. The small, medium and large widgets show one board and change their picture every few hours. To choose the board, touch and hold it in the gallery and tap Show on widgets. In that board’s Board sheet, Widgets picks what they show: close-ups of the board, your photos, or your words. There’s no watermark.
